Okay, so I said berry, because you can do this w/anything. I’ve made cherry, blackberry and blueberry. I’ve used canned fruit because I wanted easy. If I wanted to use fruit I could have made a more fancy schmancy cobbler. This one is the easiest I’ve made and one of my husbands favorites. It’s simple! I’ve included how to make it with fresh fruit if you prefer that over canned (yes, it’s better for you!) This is a great recipe for Thanksgiving day when you have other desserts and dishes to make and you need something quick and easy.
- 1 Cup of Sugar
- 1 Cup of Milk
- 1 Cup of Self Rising Flour (make sure it’s self rising. Or it WON’T RISE!)
- 1 Can of desired fruit (or 2 cups of fresh fruit & 1/2 Cup of water)
- 4 Tbl of Butter
Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt the butter in the 8X8 glass baking dish or other oven safe dish of similar size. Combine Sugar, Milk & Flour (and water if you’re using fresh fruit!) Pour over mixture over melted butter. Then, can of fruit, or fresh fruit goes on top. Bake for 45 minutes! Serve with icecream. Enjoy! Happy Eating Friends! ~Trina
