Wine Review: Naked Riesling, Columbia Valley

I love my local liquor store!  The owner is awesome, and she sure knows her wines.  I Naked Winediscussed today with her that I’m doing a weekly wine review, and she has promised to help me branch out beyond Riesling and Moscato and other whites!  So bear with me on this journey of experience all different types of wine whether sweet, or dry or bold…yes I’m even going to venture into the reds.  She suggested I try this Riesling and next week maybe a Pinot.  I’m super excited for all this research!  I will say this wine was good, although it was a bit bitter and a dry.  I enjoy a smoother wine…even if it’s not super sweet.  With our Mongolian beef dinner, it was even better-which is proof a proper food pairing is imperative!

Must. Have. Wine. Mommy-Approved Score: 3.0 STARS

Price: $11-$13

Where I found it: Liquor Store

Reviews from the wine expert (a.k.a. not me):

Review from kenswineguide: This light yellow colored Riesling opens with a mild pineapple bouquet with a touch of iced tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a tasty iced tea with a hint of lemon and cantaloupe. The finish is semi-sweet and very pleasant. This wine would pair well with ham dishes. Enjoy – Ken

From the Snoqualmie Site:

“This fresh organically grown Riesling bursts with pear aromas accented with mineral characters. A crisp, off dry finish captures the pure elegance of this varietal.”
– Joy Andersen, Winemaker

Pairing Ideas: We had this with mongolian beef and egg fried rice – and the combination was awesome! (and, Ham dishes according to Ken’s Wine Guide!)

Cheers! Trina
